I'm embedded as a BI Engineer within Foxtons, reporting to the Head of Business Analytics and working directly on the organisation's highest-revenue marketing operation. The brief was simple to state and hard to deliver: replace fragmented, manually assembled marketing reports with a single, trusted reporting layer that senior leadership actually opens.
Four dashboard groups, one marketing story
The suite is organised into Direct Mail, Aggregators, Website and a Marketing Overview section, with a dedicated summary page and deep-dive analytical pages underneath each. Together they track 40+ KPIs, including channel conversion rates across Rightmove, Zoopla and OnTheMarket, Letters per Valuation Booked, and Paid Search performance against Organic — all sliced across seven divisions.
Why it replaced the old process
Before this suite, marketing performance reporting was rebuilt by hand every week — numbers pulled from different systems, reconciled manually, and often disputed by the time they reached a leadership meeting. This suite ties every figure back to source, refreshes on a schedule, and gives every division the same numbers at the same time.
The infrastructure underneath
Automated SQL pipelines cut weekly and monthly report turnaround by roughly 80%. Scheduled Power BI dataset refreshes keep everything live. Row-Level Security enforces division- and role-based access so each team only sees what's relevant to them, and every .pbip file is version-controlled in Azure DevOps. The result is reporting that's secure, auditable and self-service — no analyst has to sit in the middle of it.
Impact
Cross-channel marketing visibility improved by roughly 35%, giving leadership faster, evidence-based budget and campaign decisions instead of relying on gut feel or last week's spreadsheet.
